Easy cupcakes: Recipe to make cupcakes with children step by step

Ingredients:

  • 110 grams of wheat flour

  • 1 tablespoon of chemical yeast, type Royal
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract

For the buttercream:

  • 250 grams of unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 250 grams of powdered sugar
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons of semi-skimmed milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Preparation:

For the cupcake batter:

  1. In a bowl, pour the butter at room temperature and add the sugar. Mix until you get a creamy consistency.
  2. Add the eggs and beat until the ingredients are well mixed.
  3. Incorporate the sifted flour and yeast into the mixture with the help of a a strainer to make the dough more spongy. Mix again until the dough is homogeneous.
  4. Finally, add the vanilla extract and mix with the rest of the ingredients.
  5. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180º for about 10 minutes.
  6. In a muffin tin, line each hole with paper cups and fill about ¾ of the way with the mixture. This ensures that the dough will not come out of the mold when it begins to rise.
  7. Bake the cupcakes for 20 minutes at 180º. Take them out and let them cool.

For the buttercream:

  1. To prepare the buttercream, place the butter at room temperature in a bowl, the milk and vanilla extract and mix.
  2. Add the sifted icing sugar and beat for at least a minute so that the ingredients are well mixed. Ideally, use an electric mixer, but you can also do this by hand.
  3. Continue beating for at least another 5 minutes on medium-high speed until you notice a creamy texture and the mixture turns smooth. almost white.
  4. Use a piping bag and decorate the cupcakes. You can let the children do this task so they can create their own designs.
