Mrinalini (मृणालिनी) is the Sanskrit word for "a cluster of lotus stalks" — the slender supporting stem of the sacred lotus. Mrinalini Devi (1873-1902) was the wife of Rabindranath Tagore, the Nobel laureate poet — she died young at 29, inspiring some of his most poignant lyric poems.
Mrinalini Sarabhai (1918-2016) was the legendary Indian classical dancer.
Mrinalini does not currently appear in the US Social Security Administration's top 1,000 girls' names, so we don't publish a US rank or birth count for it. That says nothing about the name's standing elsewhere in the world — only that it sits outside the ranked US data we rely on.
In Pythagorean numerology the letters of Mrinalini reduce to 9, The Giver. This is a traditional interpretive system, not a factual claim about the name.
