Quiteria is the Iberian-Latin name from quietus (quiet, peaceful). Saint Quiteria (2nd c.) was one of nine sister-virgins miraculously born at once to a Galician noblewoman who hid them to avoid scandal — they later became Christian martyrs.
Co-patron saint of Galicia and the Basque Country.
Quiteria reduces to seven — the number of Iberian saint.
