Balthild combines the Old German bald (bold) and hild (battle). Saint Balthild (c. 626-680) was the Anglo-Saxon slave girl who became Queen of the Franks — sold to the court of Clovis II, married him, and after his death ruled France as regent. Abolished the Christian slave trade in Francia.

Balthild reduces to eight — the number of slave-queen.
