Helvia is the Latin feminine of Helvius. Helvia (1st c. CE) was the Hispanian Roman noblewoman — mother of the Stoic philosopher Seneca the Younger. From his Corsican exile, Seneca wrote her Consolatio ad Helviam matrem, one of the most touching mother-son letters of antiquity.
Featured in Seneca's collected works.
Helvia reduces to nine — the number of Stoic mother.
