Procris (Πρόκρις) was the Athenian princess, daughter of King Erechtheus and wife of Cephalus. Her husband, testing her fidelity, accidentally killed her with a magic spear that never missed its target — one of the most poignant tragedies of Greek mythology.
Featured in Ovid's Metamorphoses.
