Shulamit is from the Hebrew Shulammīth (שולמית — peaceful one). 10th century BCE); one of the most-celebrated love poems in world literature; the only book of the Hebrew Bible centered on a feminine voice and feminine erotic poetry; "I am dark and beautiful, daughters of Jerusalem" (Song of Songs 1:5) is one of the most-quoted lines from the entire Hebrew Bible; her identity has been debated by biblical scholars for 2,500+ years; widely identified with Solomon's beloved or the personification of Israel/Jerusalem itself.
