Dechen (བདེ་ཆེན) combines the Tibetan de (happiness, bliss) and chen (great) — meaning "great happiness" or "great bliss." A concept central to Tibetan Buddhism, where dewa chenpo refers to the bliss of enlightenment.
Dechen is widely used in Tibet and Bhutan.
Dechen reduces to six — the number of Tibetan bliss.
