Felicity comes from the Latin felicitas, meaning "happiness" or "good fortune." In Roman religion, Felicitas was the goddess of good fortune. Saint Felicity (2nd-3rd century) was an early Christian martyr.
Felicity entered the U.S. top 1000 in 1985 and rose dramatically with the TV series Felicity (1998-2002). Today it sits in the U.S. top 350 — a long virtue name that wears as both classical and contemporary.
Felicity reduces to seven — the number of cultivated joy.
